Nature loves simplicity
Receiving a beautiful gift should feel good but It didn't, and yet I know the person who had sent the gift box had put thought into it and certainly their hard-earned money, the contents were from local companies, the carbon miles were perhaps reduced but the waste was high. It was a problem we wanted to solve so that everyone feels good. Wonder Things gift boxes began, not in a glamorous boutique with rolls of satin ribbon and glossy boxes but on a dining room table, with a lot of passion, and waving about of hands.
The problem with waste
We kept the problem of waste at the forefront every step of the way when curating the Wonder Things gift boxes, the impact on nature was considered for the boxes, the protective packaging, the raw ingredients, the labelling, even the social and commercial partnerships of our supply chain and distributors. Taking a holistic approach the layers were being unravelled. We researched down the chain as far as we could, do our suppliers of the raw ingedients have environmental practices? We made choices based on the things we learned from this exercise.
Zero Waste
While we aspire to zero waste, some of our bottles will travel better with the security of plastic lids - we will continue to work on a solution for this and a few other things. But for now, can we provide a box for someone who wants to give or receive beauty with zero waste? The Naked Footprint box is a small step on the journey we are on.
To explore is to grow
It became something intelligent and informed.
Natural products, recycled or recyclable containers, compostable packaging, we took a holistic approach. Less wasteful but still natural and luxurious.
Refined and thoughtful, where nature and the environment is the priority.
We will continue to explore new ways of being less wasteful and Good.
