The Mount main beach wakes to a newly appreciated feeling of freedom on the 27th April 2020 - coincidently also the day after the artist's birthday.
From the artist;
This shot was taken on the morning that New Zealand came out of level 4 and
into Level 3. It’s one of a series that I shot from 5:00 am-8:30 am. This series of images reawakens the senses and reminds me to live in the moment as it represents the coming out of the dark for a period in our history that will long live in our memories.
It's a place that holds special meaning to everyone in the bay - a place where we played as kids and now our children do the same - a continuity in a world of change and upheaval. It is a combination of dark and light.
